Midsummer poetry

Summer rhymes from Ambrinna!

While midsummer is a few weeks past, them warm days are still here. That calls for a proper summer poem. Here's one written by Ambrinna! It was recited during the Grand Summer Picnic on July 4.

There may be more poetry coming soon too, so check back in a few days!

Ambrinna's midsummer poem

I stand alone beside the old oak As the sun slowly appears Peeping between distant mountain peeks The air cold and crystal clear.

The smell of honeysuckle and pine Buzzing of bee's everywhere Wriggling my toes in the high grass The bluebells bright and fair.

A stream meanders slowly by me Sweet music in my ear For this is my home the shire Always safe from distant fear.

One day I may take that journey To those distant peaks so far Walking along old ancient tracks To see just where they are.

Today though here I am with you On this long midsummer day So I say good friends one and all May it always remain this way.
